Mickey Mouse Canvas Art DIY

I should explain why this is going to be the first of many Mickey Mouse crafts that I will post. My son's 2nd birthday is in November and Mickey Mouse is the theme. The canvas I made in this tutorial was meant for decoration, but we've actually already put it on the wall since it's so pretty. You can customize this to be anything you want, a Mickey head, a heart, a star, anything you want! It's a super inexpensive project too.

This is what I used:
- 8X10" canvas ($1.50)
- Black acrylic paint (less than $1)
- Red glass gems ($1)
- Foam brush ($.69)
- Painters tape
- White felt
- Hot glue

I laid the canvas down lengthwise and marked every inch with a pencil. I put down a strip of painters tape on every other line.

I used two pieces of tape, over lapping them a little bit to fill the entire 1" space.

I don't know why this looks brown, I promise it's black. Paint the empty spaces in black and wait for it to dry. Then carefully peel the tape off.

See? Looking pretty already :)

Next, cut out the silhouette of your liking on felt. Hot glue the gems to the felt, then glue the felt onto the canvas. That's it!

Fun & beautiful!
