Color Eggs With A Toddler

I went to Target the other day and caught Easter fever. A term that I just made up. Aisles of aisles of Easter goodies that will make you want to start doing crafts immediately.

Look at how beautiful they are. And it was so easy. You want to use hard boiled eggs because raw eggs are so easily broken. Especially if your toddler is like mine. He likes to squeeze the eggs in excitement til they crack. Haha!

I always bake my eggs. It's just easier for me than watching water boil and simmer and whatever else you have to do. Ain't nobody got tiiime for that. Cuz my toddler is always distracting me. Place eggs in a muffin tin and bake for 30 min at 325. Then place in ice cold water. Don't decorate the eggs til they are fully cool.

Here's what you need:
- sponges
- good coloring
- eggs

Simple enough huh? Now squeeze a few drops of food coloring on the sponge in different areas. Then take the egg and roll it on the sponge.

It's pretty neat to see the different ways the color transfers. Repeat this step for all eggs then transfer to a plate and wait for it to dry.

And that's it! Beautiful colored Easter eggs!

Pretty!

Btw you and your toddlers fingers will probably get stained in food coloring. Get a clean washcloth and soak in vinegar. Sprinkle with baking soda and rub on skin til the color comes off. Or keep it on as proof of a fun craft time activity :)

Have fun!
