Salted Caramel Toffee

Tis the season!

Salted Caramel Toffee

My mouth is watering as I type this. SO GOOD. & simple to make.

Don't have caramel on hand? Make your own. 1 cup butter & 1 cup of brown sugar. Mind.Blown.

Here's what you need:
Saltine Crackers
1 Cup butter (2 sticks)
1 cup light brown sugar
Peanut butter or bag of chocolate chips
Sea salt

Directions:
Preheat the oven to 400

Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and spay some Pam on it. Line it with crackers. You can tell I really wanted it all full of crackers so I broke some in half to fit.

Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat.

Add the brown sugar.

Let it boil for 3 minutes, don't stir during this time.

This is after 3 minutes

Lower the heat and stir it up a bit until you see the texture is kind of gooey.

Slowly pour it over the crackers and smooth it out with a rubber spatula.

Pop it in the oven for 5-7 minutes until bubbly. Smells sooo good.

Take it out of the oven and spread some peanut butter and/or chocolate chips on top. It will begin to melt. Use the rubber spatula to even it out throughout.

Sprinkle some sea salt on top and pop in the freezer for an hour so it can harden.

Yummmm! Break into pieces.

Go make this now! Pictures cannot begin to explain the deliciousness! You can't even taste the saltine. It's just a wonderful toffee like texture and the peanut butter just about melts in your mouth. Drool!
