Snickerdoodle Cookie Recipe

Ahhh how I love cookies. Browsing Pinterest is dangerous when I have a sweet tooth. No regrets though.

Here's the recipe:
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 large eggs
3 1/4 cups flour
2 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 cup sugar + 1 tsp cinnamon

Preheat the oven to 375.

Mix the sugar and butter together until it becomes nice and creamy. Next add the eggs and mix mix mix.

In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients slowly. Add a cup at a time and mix well in between. It will start to form chunks and become a consistency to which you can mold it. You can put it in the fridge for about 30 min to make it easier to roll into balls.

In a separate bowl, mix together the sugar and cinnamon. Take a spoonful of dough and roll it into the mixture.

Place them on a lightly greased baking sheet about 2" apart. I used aluminum foil to make sure the bottoms of the cookies don't get burnt.

Bake for 10 minutes and wait a few minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.

The first batch I rolled into small balls and baked as is, as shown below. The outcome were yummy chewy cookies.

The second batch I rolled into bigger balls and pressed a fork on the cookies to flatten them. The result were yummy chewy thicker cookies. YUM YUM! The recipe makes about 2-3 dozen cookies. Store uneaten cookies in sealed Tupperware.

Enjoy!
