Upcycled Rock Collecting Bag

This rock collecting bag is AWESOME! It really added a fun element to the park, to go looking for rocks of all different shapes, textures and sizes. In the summer, I plan on bringing this bag to the beach to collect sea shells. Fun FUN!

The bag is really easy to make and you probably have the items on hand.

This is what you'll need:

- A canvas bag (or scrap fabric)
- Produce mesh (this is from avocados I had)
- Scissors
- Glue gun/Needle & thread (not pictured)

Step 1: Cut one handle off from the canvas bag.

Step 2: Cut that in half lengthwise.

Step 3: Sew or hot glue it to the mesh. I used hot glue like always. I really should learn how to sew one of these days.

Woo hoo! That's it! You have a cool rock collecting bag ready to go! We were really excited to go exploring.

Frankie didn't wait a moment to start filling his bag up with rocks.

He would go back to playing on the playground and then suddenly discover a rock on the ground and would run to get his bag. It was so cute!

The bag is holding up pretty nicely. The rocks are pretty dense and the bag is still holding strong. I have to remember to always have our "rock collecting" bag with us at all times. It was fun!

Thanks for reading! As always, please feel free to share this post on Pinterest! I hope you have fun exploring with your kiddos! :)
